MEET ADAM DERITO ONLINE
Meet Adam DeRito
Adam DeRito is a prior Air Force Academy Cadet and a current paratrooper in the Army Reserve. Adam has served as a Special Forces Parachute Rigger, deployed within Colorado to protect local citizens from damaging wildfires, to Washington D.C. for the 2020 Presidential Inauguration, assisted in the evacuation of allied partners in the withdrawal from Afghanistan, and has also served in the Middle East while working as a CENTCOM Intelligence Analyst in Operation Inherent Resolve and Operation Spartan Shield during the Global War on Terror.
DeRito entered the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) in Colorado Springs, CO in 2006. He was discharged 30 days after graduation when he was falsely accused of fraternization. He was asked to leave with no formal discharge process, and required to pay for the degree he completed but never received. Adam believes he was retaliated against for discovering and reporting a high level of sexual assaults by cadets after he was coerced to work for the Office of Special Investigations (OSI.)
Several years after he left the academy, (while he was serving in the Colorado National Guard), Adam learned that an Air Force psychologist said she had evaluated Adam and diagnosed him with multiple psychological issues. He NEVER met with this doctor, and the records were added more than a year after he left the Academy.
Adam has filed a lawsuit against the United States of America, and has been an advocate for change within our military judicial system for cases concerning sexual assault, harassment, and retaliation.
